This was shot using a Lee Filter 0.9 ND grad to create drama in the sky, along with a LEE filter 10 stop Big Stopper to allow a 30 second exposure during regular daylight conditions, to add to the drama in the sky and smooth the water, drawing the attention to the tree. I wanted to capture a dramatic and unique capture of this infamous tree on Lake Wanaka. Using the Lee Filters Big stopper and ND grad allowed me, with plenty of experimenting and patience to add drama in the sky and the water, to ultimately focus and draw the viewers attention to the tree.
