Here is an image I had published in the September 2015 issue of Idaho Magazine.

A large rain storm was moving in on the Lewiston area, and I set out with my camera to get ahead of the storm. I took several back roads, until I rounded a corner and happened upon this small horse corral, with the clouds overhead, and the Snake River Canyon in the background.

I had to get creative on the angle with this image, because just behind the lower poles to the ramp of the coral, there is actually a massive, metal power pole in the background that runs power from the damn in the valley below. So, I had to scramble up the bank of the road (behind me as you're looking at this photo), and do an awkward partial squat on the hillside to use the fence posts to obscure the power pole from the image.

Within a matter of a few seconds, a minute at most, the clouds had rolled in enough to completely darken the sky, and obstruct the light. I was just lucky enough to catch this image just in time.
