This photo was hard earned! Having opted for an easy trek as I was recovering from a broken ankle, we found ourselves at an altitude of almost 4,000 feet, having climbed for almost 3 hours to reach the Ubumwe troop - it was very wet, slippery and the descent took almost as long as the climb. Every step and rain drop was well worth it. The most amazing experience of my life.
