I took this Photo just outside my house in Surrey one night in February when the Moon was quite low in the Sky so looked a lot larger than usual.Time
I was on my way back from work one night the moon looked like it was swallowing the Motorway as it was so big, When I got home about 8pm my Daughter came out the front door to tell me how arg the Moon was and could we get a picture.Lighting
Just a good steady shutter speed, not to fast that the moon goes blurry and a remote release.Equipment
I used a Canon EOS 7d with a Sigma 150-500mm on a tripod with a remote release cable.Inspiration
The Moon has always fascinated me I always imagine one day I will take a photo of it and you would be able to zoom in and see an Astronaut working. On this particular evening the Large moon moon was stunning and with the enthusiasm of my Daughter it was a opportunity too good to miss. We both came up with an idea what if we took multiple photos of the Moon moving across the sky.Editing
I used Lightroom and Photoshop to create the finished photo, I used Photoshop to stack all photos together and finished off the final processing in Lightroom. The only edits in lightroom where Exposure, Contrast dehaze. In my camera bag
Normally I can be found carrying my Canon 7d with a Canon 24-70mm 2.8 L, 50mm 1.4, Sigma 10-20mm and my Sigma 150-500mm Lens and a tripod.Feedback
One of the biggest advise I can give is take your time, don't be fooled on it being dark the Moon kicks out quite a bit of light. Using a tripod and remote release is a must. I find manual focus produces better results and you don't have to refocus to often. Using f stop 10 up also helps and try to keep the ISO as far down as you can.
