Behind The Lens

Location

This photo wad taken during familly vacation on Crete. It was my first journey with proper camera so while still learning I was taking every oportunity to practise.

Time

I remember it was one of the first mornings there. My dad, whom I traveled with always wakes up pretty early, nevermind if it's a work day or a vacation. I woke up around 6-7 am, my dad already swimming laps in the the hotel pool. I went on the balcony. We said our goodmornigs, noticed the nice weather and the warm sun and decided to take our cameras for a morning stroll, since breakfast wasn't served until aroud 9-10am.

Lighting

There was some warm morning light and shadows from the bushesh the cat was part playing part hiding (in the beginig at list). Nevertheless I decided to take this one in black and white to add some mystery and nostalgia into it.

Equipment

It was taken with NIKON D5100, settings: Aperture 63/10?ISO 100?Shutter 10/1600?Focal Length 1050/10?

Inspiration

I was just strolling through the small Crete village with my dad and my camera. We noticed this kitten and decided to take some pictures of the native :) The little guy was shy at first but after awhile became very friendly but also almost a proffessional in front of the lens.

Editing

It was so long ago I am not sure if I have done anything to it besides making it B&W propably I've made some light ajustments in lightroom.

In my camera bag

I am an amatour so my nikon D5100 and same old 18-105mm lens. And a tulip. And back up battery.
