Shooting a new location at first light, without any real scouting the day before is something that truly challenges a photographer's skills for finding compositions and getting the shot while the light is right. We arrived at this location while it was still dark enough to see the milky way overhead, but the light of day was soon upon us, rapidly changing the landscape from night to day. With only a few clouds in the sky which were also quickly moving and changing, trying to find that perfect window of composition and light was the name of the game.
