Location
Photo taken in a wooden house situated in an area with one-story private houses in Minsk, Belarus. The entire interior is decorated in the style of the 60s.Time
It was a warm June afternoon.Lighting
I was guided by photography with natural light from the window. But I didn't need the bright sun. The final picture required a calmer, softer light. So the situation was saved by trees in front of the windows. They partially obscured the sun and scattered its rays.Equipment
Nikon d610 (I used it in 2015) and Nikkor 50/1.4Inspiration
I saw the interior of the house somewhere on the internet and immediately fell in love with it. I really like the aesthetics of Soviet interiors of the 60-70s. So I wanted to convey this atmosphere. The atmosphere of leisureliness, sleepy bliss and mild melancholy.Editing
For art photos I usually use Lightroom and Photoshop. In Lightroom I "show" photos from raw format to jpg. In Photoshop I use retouching and finish the color and light correction. In my camera bag
I work as a photojournalist and do art photo as a hobby, so my photo equipment set varies depending on the purpose. For work I use: Nikon d750 (now), Nikkor 80-200/2.8, Tokina 16-28/2.8 and Nikkor 50/1.4. And for art photo I usually use (except for the aforementioned camera and Nikkor 50/1.4) Nikkor 35/1.8 and manual Samyang 85/1.4.Feedback
Sometimes simple everyday things can inspire photographer and can be further translated into an ideas for photoshoot. In my case I was pushing away from the place, it's atmosphere and energetics. And it set the mood for all photoshoot. Further the image of the main character was born in my head: her type of appearance, clothing and behavior. Also it is important to find the model, who is close to the idea and its general aesthetics. My model Nastya perfectly played her role and organically fit into the final frame.
