There is something magical about this tiny island which makes me want to return here again and again. This morning the sky was overcast with thick snow clouds and the road was covered with a layer of snow. As expected in this condition nobody else was at the spot so it was amazingly quiet and terribly cold. First only the island was visible but as as time passed by more and more of the landscape behind the island became visible. I constantly shot frames to later chose the one I prefer. I like how the mountains in the background are only partly visible and still seem to be less in focus than the island and the foreground of the image. Those two holes in the ice totally make the shot and add lots of interest as well as a contrasting color to the image.
