I'd been experimenting with plane's light trails, but wanted to try an exposure to freeze their motion mid-flight. I was sure I'd either get arrested or run off long before I got the shot, but thought I'd try anyway. So I found the closest 'public' point to the runway as I could and aimed up. Using a speed light I was able to freeze the motion of the plane while still getting its light trails passing by. The blip of red on the back side is its beacon light illuminating the landing gear.
