Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo at Wollaton Hall, in Nottingham.

Time

This was taken in the afternoon, I remember the sun was starting to lower in the sky but the cloud and there was a chill in the air.

Lighting

The cloud softened the bright sun that really helped create a nice glow on the stag.

Equipment

I was using a canon 5d mkiv with a sigma 70-200mm 2.8.

Inspiration

I’ve seen lots of wildlife photography that inspires me, however, David Attenborough and all his films inspire me so much.

Editing

Only a little bit of adjustments in lightroom. I increased the contrast, dropped the highlights and increased the shadows slightly.

In my camera bag

I always carry my canon 5d mkiv, sigma 70-200mm 2.8, canon 17-35mm 2.8 and a few spare memory cards.

Feedback

The best advice I can give is to get out there and take as many photos as possible. That’s the best way to improve your photography.
