Location
This was taken back in 2018, I was still very new to photography at the time. I took it at Pismo Beach in California.Time
This definitely became one of my favorite photos. It was Christmas Day, I was with my sister and brother and we decided to go shopping at the outlet mall and go to beach. We walked along the beach for a few hours and enjoyed the beautiful sunset then went and got some dinner.Lighting
I wanted the photo to resemble a painting almost. I found by getting low to ground and looking up I was able to distort the foreground enough to blend with the background while keeping the jagged rocked prominent and sharp. I found It helped capture the reflections of the sky in the little pools of water in the sand and made the sand shine with color instead of being just gray.Equipment
This was shot with my Canon Rebel T5 with an 18-55mm lens at f3.5.Inspiration
I can't really say anything particular inspired this photo. I had barely had my camera two years and just wanted to go out and create. Photography is my happy place, my serenity in this chaotic world we live in.Editing
I edited the photo in Adobe Lightroom adjusting exposure slightly, bringing out the contrast in the clouds better and amplifying the colors in the sky.In my camera bag
Back when I took this shot my bag had everything it still has but was a lot lighter. It still has the rebel t5 with the 18-55mm lens, I've now included ND filters because long exposures are my best friend and a wonderful 50mm 1.8 lens. Since getting it this summer it has become my all time favorite. Aside from that it all depends where I'm shooting if my tripod is included in the mix.Feedback
Remember to get low, go high, explore different perspectives. Without looking at the beach from this angle I wouldn't gotten the desired look out of it.
