This shot was taken on our back deck. I put up a black sheet for a backdrop. I was trying for another shot all together, one with a bubble maker. just goes to show, ANYTHING can happen when you have a camera in front of your face.Time
It was the middle of the afternoon, say around 2:30 or 3:00. The light on our deck is just about perfect then. I love natural light, it makes for the best photos, especially for animal photos.Lighting
I am still learning photography, everyday and every shot, I learn something new. The lighting was natural light. It makes for better photos I think. Don't get me wrong, I have indoor lighting for shooting and stand mounted flash. I just prefer natural light.Equipment
I was using my Nikon D5500 with a 55mm lens, for this shot. Other than the black sheet for a backdrop, nothing else.Inspiration
As I said earlier, I was trying for another shot altogether. I wanted one with the cat playing with bubbles from a bubble machine. I do have a shot of cat and bubbles, but its no where near as good as this photo. As any photographer can tell you, you can plan great shots, but perfect shots just happen!!!!!!!!!!Editing

I love my Nikon D5500, my back-up is Nikon D3200. The 3200 is the first REAL camera I have owned, my wife knew I liked photography and gave it to one Christmas morning. Now she can't get it out of my face. Both have 55 mm and 300mm lens. I always have a lightweight tripod with me, you just never know when you will need it. ALWAYS carry cleaning fluid and wipes, again you never know what might happen. Also extra batteries is a must. It never hurts to have more than one chip with you..Feedback
Never give up !! See the shot in your head and keep shooting until you see it on your camera. As I said, good and great shots can be planned, but the best ones just happen. All my best, are ones that just fell into place, you know, right time right place !!!! Remember, keep shooting, keep learning..
