Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken in the Aperture Woolwich studio.

Time

We run studio nights on Tuesday nights, so this would have been around 9pm

Lighting

This would have had a main front light, and a strong side light, with reflectors used to fill in any shadows.

Equipment

Canon 600d, with a 28-135mm lens and two flash units

Inspiration

We wanted a 1960's style shoot, and went for an early 60's UK mod look at first, then switched to a psychedelic look.

Editing

This would have been processed in photoshop first to remove the wires holding up the vinyl records, then in lightroom to get the tone I was after.

In my camera bag

Not a lot, I like to travel light so only have my 600d and at most 2 lenses.

Feedback

Engage with your model as much as you can - as soon as you get a link with your model, the sooner everyone relaxes and the shoot starts to work better.
