Location
This photo was taken in the streets of Prague. I am a self-taught photographer. My former job was a jazz musician and jazz music is definitely something wonderful as well as street portrait. Both of them have raw essentials, are coarse as gravel, unrestrained, but sophisticated at the same time - and all of that arouses intensive emotions.Time
It is not easy to find unique and interesting faces in the streets. It is just a matter of coincidence. This photo was taken on March 20, 2017 at 4:32 PM.Lighting
I prefer natural lightning to some artificial, because it looks real. Then portraits have that special atmosphere that studio portraits don’t. Natural light can give you incredible shots if you know how to use it.Equipment
This photo was taken with a Canon EOS 5D Mark II with Canon EF50mm f/1.8 STM lens, focal lens 50mm 1/800 f/7.1 No other equipment was involved.Inspiration
I just want my images to tell people's stories - homeless or not - I want to take photos of human souls. I try to capture their hard live. My images are not just simple portraits but they are testimonies of human loneliness and suffering in this harsh liquid modernity. I show all my sens of humor, but also my love and sensivity to that person. This is probably one of my most favourite portraits.Editing
I like to edit pictures. I always use RAW format and edit photos in Photoshop. Basically I change background (sometimes it can be difficult to make the perfect selection). I convert image to black and white, change contrast - local contrast and local sharpness measure. Mostly I like to create multiple versions of the same image. In my camera bag
The useful and necessary things inside my camera bag: Canon EOS 5D mark II body, Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 stm lens, Canon EF 70-300mm f4-5.6 IS USM lens, spare memory card, microfiber cloth, extra battery.Feedback
The human face is probably one of the most interesting phenomenons. I am a photographer passionate for capturing candid portraits. Personally, I prefer to take photos of wrinkled faces because of that wonderful texture or of someone who is mysterious and charismatic. You can also try to create your own interpretation of the subject you are taking picture of. The feeling of walking around, looking for an outstanding character, overcoming the fear of approaching and asking their permission of your taking a portrait - you find all of that exciting.
