In the studio we had a great equipment. The difficulty was, a baby in this age does not stay still where it should be. So I used a simple shoe mount flash, flashed indirectly.Equipment
Nikon D4, Nikkor 24-70mm, Nikon SB-900Inspiration
It was a rainy sunday and I badly needed a self portrait for a publication in a magazine. I asked my brother who is a photographer too to make some photos in his studio. We went into the studio the afternoon with the whole family. We had a lot of fun. Our two sons have started to monkeying around and playing with the pasta. I spontaneously made ??some photos. At home when I viewed the photos I got the idea with the cook who stands in the boiling pot.Editing
Yes, it's a composing. Photographed in the studio is just the baby with the pasta and the plush toys in front of a gray background. I used Lightroom to edit the RAW files. In photoshop everything else has been inserted, background, boiling pot, soup, wooden spoon... I work with different layers and masks. Finally a vignetting to highlight the main motive. In my camera bag
Nikon D4, Nikon D4s, Nikkor 24-70mm, Nikkor 80-400mm, Sigma 150mm macro, SB-900Feedback
Children in this age have their own head. They are old enough to run itself but still too young to follow the instructions. I prefer to make snapshots when they playing outside that gives the most natural photos. In the studio I recommend to offer something to play what the child has never seen before. Something new always aroused the interest of a child or something that fascinates like soap bubbles. Then you have good chances to get the attention and a gleam in the eyes of the children.
