This is Greenan Castle near Ayr in Scotland.Time
I took this photo at 10.10 am on the 17/9/17.Lighting
This was a sunlit morning with a slight bit of cloud.Equipment
I used a Canon EOS 1300 D with a Tamron 70 - 300 mm lens at 90mm. This was a shutter speed of 1/1600 with an f/stop of 4.5 and was taken hand held.Inspiration
I have taken photo's of the castle from the other side many times, but this was the first time that i had gone past the castle. My focus was on taking the photo of the castle and i had not taken that much notice of the cliff as such , apart from the fact the castle was on the top of it.Editing
I used PS Elements to tidy the edges of the photo and sharpen it up a bit.In my camera bag
The equipment that goes everywhere with me is: Camera: Canon EOS 1300D also a Maginon S3700 bridge. Lenses: Tamron 70 -300mm / Canon 18 - 55mm and a Canon 28 -90mm. A cable release and a rain coverFeedback
I'm not sure what advice to give here, as I tend to find that a lot of my photography is done on the spur of the moment. I tend to look and if something catches my eye I'll look at the subject and what is likely to be the best angle to shoot from. Also look at your photo later not just on the day of taking it, because i had not noticed the face in the cliff face until i put it in to PS to tidy the picture up as one i might use on my FB page.
