While aspens may not have the record for the oldest living tree in the world, clonal colonies can outlast even the longest living tree. One such colony of aspens exists in Utah, covering over 100 acres and estimated to be over 80,000 years old. These cottonwoods and aspens, from the area around Steamboat Springs, are considerably younger but no doubt equally as beautiful in its array of Fall colors!
