Orion over the Frozen Beaver Pond

At sunset on the night of the Geminid meteor shower my friend and I hiked up to this little lookout to capture Orion rising over the beaver pond. Something about the puffy snow piles on the trees just makes me so happy and to have a clear night along with it is what I call perfection. I love when you get lucky and having things line up so perfectly. For this image I used my full spectrum modified camera to help bring out more of the detail in Orion. You can see the ice cloud on the horizon from the Madawaska River in Whitney and thanks to the Optolong filter I was able to still capture the loop to the left of Orion even with a light polluted sky.

Sony a7s Mod (full spectrum)
Optolong Filter e-ef adapter + Lpro
Rokinon 14mm 2.8
20 seconds
ISO 3200
