Behind The Lens

Location

The was taken during my holiday in Canada. At the very end of the Maligne Lake during a boat trip.

Time

It's late afternoon and we were just making a drop by the end of the lake during a boat trip. The sky was incredibly intense with clouds running from every part of the lake creating such an inspiring atmosphere.

Lighting

Well not much really, I like to use natural light as much as possible avoiding direct sun light...of course this is not always feasible and in that occasion I like to play with the sun creating strange silhouette...

Equipment

I used a camera with no tripod. The lens is a Nikon 24-70. And I used a Nikon D3s full frame reflex.

Inspiration

The clouds, the soft light coming form the sky, the little island just in front of me with those solitary trees.

Editing

Well actually no very much of post-processing. Just a little bit of crop and playing with brightness. But not really much.

In my camera bag

I always have a full frame reflex, with two/three lenses. I have a 14-24, a 24-70 and a 80-200. Depending how much weight I can carry with me. Lately I'm entering in the mirrorless world always on the full frame side. Now I've abandoned the D3S for a D750. As mirrorless I'm shooting with a Z6.

Feedback

Just catch the atmosphere...in your eyes and then you are done...
