Location
This shot was one of many from a shoot in my home studio, Luisa Maria is a local makeup artist who was willing to have a go at modelling & was my favourite from the shootTime
I don't think this really applies as it was a studio shoot but from memory I believe it was early afternoon & we did a 2 hour shoot.Lighting
Just the one 300 light used .Equipment
The camera used was a Canon 6D with a Tamaron 20/70 lense & it was hand held.Inspiration
We started doing headshots with Luisa on a barstool then some full length standing shots, then after chat we decided she should lay on white throw & this pose worked best.Editing
Very little post as Luisa has great skin so I did do a frequency separation to get rid of a couple of minor spots , I checked the exposure and finished with unsharpened filter. In my camera bag
I do mainly studio work as I'm over 70 and long hikes to some beauty spots in the local English Lake District are rather beyond me now. Since this was taken I have 2 wall mounted lights to save on floor space as my studio is very small being a converted bedroom. I also have free stand lights as and when needed. My backdrop[p is reversible vynil black / white.Feedback
Your never to old to start photography , I had done a little when I was in my early 20's 35 mm of course & had to give up due to cost when I got married. I took it up again @ around 63 & of course everything had changed . You have so much freedom with digital & & the likes of Lightroom & photoshop. I think the best advice I can give is & this applies particularly to studio work is make sure you get the framing right don't go off background, and as its digital you can always take the shot again, Just enjoy what your doing.
