just got a telephoto lens and decide to try it on the HG Wells Martian statue in Woking. pleased with the details as the statue is at least 30 ft hig

Behind The Lens

Location

I took the photo at home on my sofa.

Time

It was taken first thing in the morning, just after I got up. A whippet’s natural repose is lazing on a sofa wrapped in a blanket. He will not get up until I arrange the blanket to his satisfaction!????

Lighting

The lighting is just the natural light coming through the window. I always try to use natural light as much as possible.

Equipment

I used my IPhone 5s

Inspiration

I took this photo primarily because I just love my dog. Also I wanted to capture the absolute laziness of the Whippet breed and the wonderful patterns on his nose leather.

Editing

The only thing I did was to change the photo from a colour image to a monochrome one.

In my camera bag

Quite a few of my photos are taken on my iPhone like this one so I don’t have any extra equipment. The rest of my photos are taken with a Canon 450d camera. In my bag I have the standard Canon lens and a Sigma telephoto lens with a macro setting.
