In this photo a wolf is charging to an elk carcass.
In November 2017 I traveled to Montana then onto Yellowstone National Park. I have never visited Yellowstone before, and I traveled solo. On this trip the only reason I wanted to go to Yellowstone was to see wolves. Originally I never thought I would see them, but I ended up observing 20 wolves. I was informed on the scene by folks from the Wolf Project the pack I was photographing is called The Wapiti Pack. This wolf either has a name or a tag number. Most of the wolves are collared.
Not easy to photograph wolves in Yellowstone. There are rules and other photographers you have to learn to appreciate and deal with. Most of them had their cameras on tripods. I captured hand held shots. This shot I kept one eye on the viewfinder and one eye on the subject.
