The shot was taken downtown New Haven in the middle of the road. I used to love shooting sneakers and would get excited every time my friends would get a new sneaker release
Time
My favorite time to shoot is always around the golden hour but I couldn't get that this day because of the overcast, unfortunately. But this photo was Taken December 26 2015 around 3:30
Lighting
I was just learning about off camera lighting so I wanted to utilize the craft in almost every photo shoot I could and since the mood of that day was so gloomy I wanted to brighten it up with a little fill flash not really knowing how to aim it I was moving the flash almost 9 different spots before I found something I like
Equipment
This was shot on my favorite camera when I was starting the Nikon d5200 and Nikkor 85mm 1.8 and Nikon Speedlight.
Inspiration
When I first got into photography I was intrigued by sneaker photography wanting to work for nice kicks and other sneaker blogs so i would always take pictures of my friend's sneakers.Me being the person I am I'm always looking up ideas and inspiration. The pose I had my friend do I seen people do from the front of the shoes but never from the back of the shoe so I wanted to try something different. Luckily I got this beautiful picture
Editing
For this picture, it was rather simple most of editing all I did was turn up the exposure for the picture and boost the saturation. It came out of camera pretty well
In my camera bag
For my Nikon bag, I have my Nikon D750 with my all around lens Nikkor 24-120mm f/4, Nikkor 35mm f/1.8, Nikkor 85mm f/1.8, and my favorite lens ever the Rokinon 14mm f/2.8. For my Sony bag, I have somewhat a similar rang but fewer lenses I have the Sony a6500, Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8, Canon 50mm f/1.8, and Rokinon 10mm f/2.8. As you can tell I love soothing wide ranges
Feedback
For someone trying to get a similar shot, I would say don't be afraid to see something you like and put your own twist on it
