I took this photo in my college small tea shop.Time
As I took this photo in my college it was during the early hours of the day. It was before any of my class begins and so the time was 9 in the morning.Lighting
It was the a beautiful day and there were some clouds and thus the light was a little soft also this bird was sitting under the tree and thus the leaves were also filtering the light.Equipment
I have canon EOS 1200d with my kit lens and nothing special. Thus I used the 55-250 mm at F 5.6 for this image.Inspiration
I was sitting with my friends drinking tea and having a casual conversation about photography and one of my friend challenged me to take the image of this bird. Now, this bird is not afraid of people because they give biscuits to the bird. I took my camera set all of the manual settings to get the perfect exposure and then waited for the bird to turn and when she turn I took the shot.Editing
Yes, I did small corrections in adobe lightroom because I shoot in the netural colour profile which means that the camera does not add saturation to the colours. In Lightroom, I added contrast, highlights, shadows and blacks. I did not touch the exposure because I was happy with the exposure. Then I added saturation to the colours. In the end, I made a few selective edits to add sharpness in the eye and soften the background so that it does not look distracting. In my camera bag
As previously mentioned I have only what comes in the kit and thus my equipment is Canon eos 1200d with 18-55 mm and 55-250 mm.Feedback
If posible get to the eye level of the bird, If the bird is on the ground then lay down on your stomach. this will give your images a unique perspective. If getting to the eye level is not possible then shoot upwards and always use rule of thirds. Always focus on the eye. If the background od your bird is sky then expose for the sky and keep the subject a little underexposed so that in the post you bring up the shadows and slow have details in the sky. The last is know your subject. you should know about the bird and their behaviour. If you know this you will know how close you can get to them without making them fly away. Some birds have special habits, use this knowledge to pre compose your shots.
