We were waiting for the sunset but the clouds covered the sun and so we enjoyed following the lights of the cars on the road!Lighting
We only played with our cars and with the ones who were driving on that road, everything is by the fortuneEquipment
A good tripod (Rollei in my case), Canon eos 6d, Tamron 15-30 and the time controller for exposures longer than 30 seconds...Inspiration

Over what I described, I usually have ND and GND filters, other kind of lenses like the 24-70 and the 70-200 and some extra batteryFeedback
If you are so lucky you can drive a car and help with the light painting you can take a lot of pics before the right one; if you don't have this luck try a lot before, set the right adjustements and when you are ok with the landscape you can think about the lighting!
