Location
This is a local road in a small Ohio suburb that I frequently travel.Time
Shot during early evening just before the sun disappears behind the trees.Lighting
Because of the surrounding foliage and bend in the road I noticed this particular time of day offered a wonderful lighting senario that created an illusion of a tunnelEquipment
This was shot on a Canon 7D using a Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM Wide Angle Lens. No other equipment was used.Inspiration
As I frequently travel this road I'm often overwhelmed by the picturesque beauty it offers especially during Autumn when the soft evening sun illuminates the wonderful colors. In addition, the bend in the road gave a wonderful composition.Editing
Lightroom and Photoshop were used for the post processing: increasing contrasts to bring out the colors, giving a soft vignette, and removing some unwanted signs helped complete my vision. In my camera bag
My camera bag includes: Canon 7D, Canon 10-22mm wide angle, Canon EF 70–200mm f/2.8L IS II USM, and a Sigma 85mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Lens for CanonFeedback
Rural roads are wonderful opportunities to capture the beauty of nature. Choosing a narrow road with turns and bends gives you a chance to shape the composition favorably. Shooting at dusk allows the colors to appear richer without having to enhance in post processing.
