Location
This is one of my favorite wave photos in my family of images! It was taken shortly after an all night gathering of fellow light painters. Taken on a mild near winter morning on Stoney Point just north east of Duluth ,Mn. I love the big lake all year long!Time
Taken just after the sun had risen above the horizon. Mornings are specially gorgeous over lake Superior!Lighting
Sunrise coming from behind the wave!Equipment
Shot with my trusty Canon 7D. It seems to love the big lake as much as I!Inspiration
Inspiration is aas always the beautiful lake Superior!Editing
Im not one for much post work so probably just a contrast and color bump!In my camera bag
In my bag you will always find a speed light, four to five lenses, camera body, I cant go anywhere without a few ND filters and circular polarizer. Extra cards and batteries of course. A rain jacket for my gear and a handfull of qtips. It may seem strange but you will always find a roll of black tape in my bag as well. I use it for many things!Feedback
A tip for catching a shot like this. Well you first have to be there! Never shoot it one shot at a time. You will most always be a little late. I shoot on high speed mode and normally shoot 3-8 shots of the wave as it crashes.
