Location
The photo was taken in Royden Park on the Wirral Peninsular in North West England.Time
It was taken in less than ideal full harsh afternoon sun. It did bring the reflections and patterns of the wings out nicely thoughLighting
I had no control over the lighting at allEquipment
It was shot with a Nikon D5200 and a 70-300 VR11 lens.Inspiration
The pool is a great place for dragonflies, there will usually be emperors, chasers and damsels flying aroundEditing
I only cropped the image, I'm still learning post processing with DarktableIn my camera bag
I don't have a huge collection so it will be my D5200, 70-300VR11 and the 18-55VR kit lens the camera came with. I have a little Manfrotto pixi in the bag. It is fine for the kit lens for landscape shots. The other things I carry are a couple of plastic rubble sacks to use as ground sheets and a bag of bird food.Feedback
Spend some time watching where they settle and wait for them to land. They are very hard to photograph in flight Have patience and keep it fun.
