Location
Vilsalpsee at Tannheimer Valley in AustriaTime
It is a calm morning in early autumn. Almost no wind results in a quite calm surface of the Vilsalpsee.Lighting
This pictures main theme is the reflection of the mountains in the mirror-like surface of the lake. I was lucky with the condition. The light of that morning, blue skies and the lack of wind were ideal for that picture. I like the crispy look of the mountain range and these color schemes being reflected in the Lake. Somehow this picture is really peaceful.Equipment
I used a Sony Alpha 58 with a basic 18-55 SAM II lens, no flash, no tripod. Simple setup but getting the job done.Inspiration
I always wanted to capture a reflection of mountains in a lake. This was the first time that i was rewarded with ideal conditions and luckily I was in the right place at the right time. Somehow everything aligned and made this picture possible.Editing
I intesed the colors a bit and edited the white balance. I had to lighten up the left side of the picture because it was a little too dark.In my camera bag
I usually have a little tripod, a filter for long term exposure, a remote release and a vintage lens for artsy/oldschool pictures.Feedback
A lot of advice could be given. A general advice for landscape photography i would give is: Stay calm, although it might be hard to stay cool in a fascinating scenery. Watch your scenery closely and think of your composition.
