The photo was taken of my daughter in our backyard. I am a self taught photographer in rural Ohio.Time
I couldn't wait to take these photos with my daughter. This was taken on an unusually mild November afternoon.Lighting

I really wanted my triplets to dress up as Tinkerbell, Captain Hook and Peter Pan for Halloween, but they are 3.5 years old with definite opinions of their own and chose different costumes. So, I took advantage of the Tinkerbell costume and did a photoshoot instead.Editing
There wasn't too much altering of this photo in post-processing. My goal is to get it as close to my vision in camera. I reduced the color luminosity, and gave it more of a matte finish.In my camera bag
I always have my 50mm 1.8 and the 85mm 1.8 with me. I love that they both give me the sharp, creamy photos I'm shooting for.Feedback
I always try to plan every detail ahead of time, especially when working with children. I have found I get my best shots of them in the first few minutes. Having the shoot prepared in advance allows me to focus on my connection with the subject rather than the setting.
