Location
This photo was taken in Sarasota, Florida. More specifically, the City Island area overlooking Sarasota Bay.Time
This photo was taken at almost 7:00 pm.Lighting
As soon as I left for work, I rushed across town to get to this spot because I had a good feeling about the clouds that day.Equipment
This was shot on my Canon Rebel T5 with the EF-S 10-188mm. I used a tripod, polarizer, and ND filterInspiration
Since I moved to Sarasota, I've always loved how this ragged tree stood alone in the water. However, on this particular day, I had found my favorite tree had toppled over from Hurricane Irma. While initially, I was upset because Mother Nature had taken a toll on my tree, I noticed the tree was reaching toward the sunset and it gave me a sense of hope.Editing
The post processing on this image included the usual shadow/highlights tweaking, saturation, and sharpening adjustments. I regularly work in Lightroom, Photoshop, and Nik Color Effects Pro. Recently I have been using luminosity masks to create a more vibrant sky.In my camera bag
Canon Rebel T5 and EF-S 10-18mm and lately I won't go anywhere without ND Filters.Feedback
I always keep an eye out for thin clouds and I take note if they are moving fast.
