My favourite spot in the whole city : never done discovering all the intricate beauty that italian gothic has developed here, thanks to dozens of artists forging Candoglia's marble, to enhance the lovely hues it contains .This marble came from the far mountains up north, using specially built waterways . The fact that it took centuries to finish the Duomo gave birth to a way of saying, still in use today " To work for the Duomo Factory" , which means to be in a neverending task, almost for free..
