Cloudy morning giving even light.Equipment
Nikon D800 on a tripod with a 25-70 mm lens. No flash, just a slow shutter speed.Inspiration
The idea of blurring the water for effect and the fall colors of leaves inspired me to work to capture this shot.Editing
Lightroom Elements is my preferred processing software. It gives me the flexibility I need. It's all about bringing a sense of balance to the photo while working to retain some of its unique features such as color and texture. In my camera bag
Keep it simple, you will clutter your focus if you bring too much. This took me a few years to get into my thinking, I cannot plan for everything every time I shoot. I keep a few lenses, a backup battery and some filters. This gives me what I need, my heart and mind do the rest of the work.Feedback
Plan ahead before you go shooting, knowing what you want to capture is important, but this will take time. Also, do some scouting; drive through and area you are considering a look for composition elements you might want to bring in to the shot.
