Snow Buntings - In winter these birds gongregate in enormous flocks. They are very skittish and the whole flock bursts into flight at the slightest provocation. It's an amazing feeling to have hundreds of these beautiful birds swirling around you. This image started as five different shots taken at Hampton Beach State Park several years ago. It's difficult to get this many birds in focus in one frame because of the short depth of field of my extreme telephoto lens so I took the best pieces of several shots and incorporated them into one image to give the feeling of being there in person.
