Location
i'm not so much a photographer, more of a countryman with a camera. the bird is a captive free flying bird on an exercise day.Time
not a set up shot , i was just laying on the ground watching him fly when he landed and ran towards me, pure chance. the light was good and fairly high , giving great color and outline.Lighting
natural light and not washed out by the sky. the background sets up the contrast well.Equipment
canon 7d1 with an 18-135mm canon video lens. my 7d2 and 100-400 was sat on the ground as i had been using it for inflight shots.Inspiration
one of several birds of prey that i was working with this day, but this chap really had some character about him.Editing
a little sharpening in windows live gallery is the only edit.In my camera bag
i don't carry a bag, if it doesn't fit in my pockets then it stays at home.Feedback
patience and always be ready for the unplanned. its better to take a shot and not like it than to have not taken the shot and missed an opportunity.
