Behind The Lens
Location
this shot was taken in mid Norfolk, early one morning. i had seen movement on the field and decided to hide in a ditch beneath the hedge.Time
this was an early morning shoot, it was dark when i left the house and walked about a mile to get in the working area. so just after first light.Lighting
the fox was up wind of me and i kept low and still . the fox was totally unaware of me until about 15 mtrs.Equipment
a canon 100 d with a 75-300 lens, nothing special. handheld as carrying a tripod makes too much noise.Inspiration
i had seen her quartering/ hunting the field for two days previous at that time but the light wasn't good or the wind was from the wrong direction carrying my scent.... a target of opportunity but well worth it.Editing
i use windows live gallery, the shot was cropped , then the contrast slightly tweeked, the rest of the color is natural light and red fur.In my camera bag
i carry spare batteries in my pocket, if it doesn't fit in a pocket it stays at home.Feedback
take the time to walk an area regularly, you will learn who lives there and their habits... i never give details to anyone.. too many people won't respect nature or property to get a shot.
