Behind The Lens

Location
This was taken in my little home studio,
Time
I can't remember exactly the time of day but I think it was late afternoon early evening.
Lighting
The lighting used for this shot was my speedlite used remotely in a softbox of to camera right.
Equipment
Shot on my Nikon d5200, using my sigma 70-300 mm lens, speedlite used remotely on camera left placed in a soft box.
Inspiration
I had been learning about sibling posing and wanted to try a few things, this was one of them, and I wanted a nice shot of my daughter's for the wall.
Editing
Yes, this image has been processed a bit, firstly the scarf used on my youngest daughter was blue, so I changed the hue to match, burned a few if the shadows to increase the contrast and added some smoothness to their skin, oh and changed the background colour which was originally grey.
In my camera bag
My camera body, Nikon 55-200mm lens, 35mm lens spare battery, cards, my glass sphere, and grey card.
Feedback
Always have your model stand away from the back drop, lighting is key for a shot like this, always have light either left or right of the model, and high enough to create shadows. Somewhat below, for example the nose. Head angle is important, too high and shot will shoot up the nose, having the head either straight on or slightly from above has a much pleasing angle.
