Location
This shot was taken in my hometown Khan-Yunis in the Gaza Strip. My camera is pretty much my best companion, I could almost say that my whole life is saved in the form of photos on my external hard drives.Time
It was one of those days where my and my best friends' families gather and do something together. We decided to go to the beach and shortly before the sun sat down, I decided to take a few photos of the sunset, and this was one of the best results.Lighting
To be honest, at the time I cared more about the scenery as a whole, did not pay much attention to other details like light and such. This photo was one of my first, that I thought was worth publishing.Equipment
This was shot on a Nikon P520, with no equipment involved.Inspiration
It was initially one of those casual shots, someone would take on a family trip. But seeing the sunset and the kids playing in the sand (with their backs turned to us) gave me the feeling, that this could end up more than just a casual family trip photo.Editing
At the time I had Photoshop as the one tool I used to edit my shots. I adjusted the colors a little but tried not to go way off, because it was not a RAW shot.In my camera bag
As of now I run around with my Sony a6000. It has served me well but I'm looking forward to upgrading it. Then I take a 50mm 1.8 and a 12mm 2.0. Sometimes, depends on what I want to shoot, I pack in my Tripod.Feedback
Sometimes randomly shot photos can turn into pieces of art, or lead to better shots. If there is one thing that I have learned, since the time I've taken this picture, is to keep going and never giving up. I've come long ways since back then, and it's all because I kept going forward and trying to get better and better. So just keep going!
