Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken across the road from our home looking east.

Time

It was a summer morning after a big storm was breaking up.

Lighting

As I looked out our window I knew the clouds would be breaking apart rather quickly. I wanted to grab the dramatic light as much as I could!

Equipment

I used a Nikon 5100 with a 35 to 70mm kit lens.

Inspiration

That open field with the light just right above the fur trees was a dramatic scene. The addition of the clouds gave it the shadows that fit for me!

Editing

Yes post production work was with Affinity Photo. I have a very limited ability on it so the work was done using mostly contrast, clarity, vibrance and dropping the exposure a little.

In my camera bag

I primarily use the Nikon 5100 although I have stepped up from my kit lens to a Sigma lens with macro.

Feedback

My advise is to trust your eyes they never stop teaching you what they see. We just have to listen to what is being seen. In a world of heavy technology sometimes sitting without a camera can be best moments for art.
