Location
I live in rural northeast Alabama. In the southern Appalachians, many farms and home places were abandoned during the 40's and 50's when better jobs were offered in the cities such as steel plants and other manufacturing opportunities. The economic situation left farming, even on a small scale, not worth the effort. Many homes and even animals and equipment were left with promises to someday return. Some of these houses and barns still stand. In some cases, no one knows to whom they belong. For photographers and historians, that's a good thing.Time
I was teaching school at the time this photo was taken. If it snows "just a little bit" in the South, school is dismissed and everyone heads home. I decided to ride around with my little Cannon to get some rare shots of "snowscapes."Lighting

Just my little Cannon Sure shot.Inspiration
The rare snow fall. I like contrast between the dark wood of the old cabin and the snow. I took several photos that day. Glad somebody liked this one.Editing
Not to this one.In my camera bag
If I have my bag with me, just my little Cannon and a small tripod. Most of the photos I take now are done with my iPhone 6s. I do have a blue tooth shutter button.Feedback
Please yourself. Take your time to frame the shot the way you would like to see it. Imagine a painting hanging on your wall. Does it please YOU? Then usually others will appreciate your art also. Most of the time, just the light on a particular landscape or even a tree or rock will scream at me to save it forever with photography.
