Snowy Owl Saying Hello

A snowy owl touches down onto a fence post during a snow squall.

Paid a visit to my back yard.

Was very lucky to have spotted this girl on this very cold winters morning. Very active in a very small field at the end of a dead end road.

Beautiful yellow eyes. Did you know Owls eyes don't move? This is why they have such neck movement.

A day full of snow squalls and one hit just before this beautiful Snowy Owl came in for a landing.

I have a huge passion for these beautiful raptors.

This image was actually taken at a landfill in Collingwood Ontario with permission of course.

Time

This was taken about 9:00 am to 11:00 am.

Lighting

All natural sunlite from the east side.

Canon 70D Battery Grip Sigma 150-600 mm Canon 18-120 mm Shoulder Strap

Inspiration

I love raptors of all kinds and just birds in general. My wife set me up to shoot with an amazing young lady that trains these birds to work.

Editing

I do my own post processing the best I can. I boosted the saturation a little, sharpened and adjusted clarity a touch. Added a little vignette at the end.

In my camera bag

Now that I have a large backpack just about all my gear fits in there.
