Came across this fungus while going to lunch on Kitt Peak after I had finished giving my tour. Had to go to the Visitors center and get my camera before I could go in and have lunch! Only to have missed lunch as the kitchen had closed while I was getting my camera, and shooting the pictures. I think it was worth it.

I got to document this Great Horned Owl nest from about one week old chicks to the time they all fledged.
