Because Lake Mead is so low it allows access to various Canyons. One canyon has nesting Great Horn Owls. You have to be very quiet otherwise you will scare them away and they won't come back next year to nest. I was so privileged that one of my friends knew how to get to this canyon and she took 5 of us back there it was a 7 mile hiking trip. Well worth it.
