Behind The Lens

Location

this photo was taken near Clewiston FL USA

Time

I was on my way home around 3pm when I saw this caracara attacking this corn snake

Lighting

I was lucky with the afternoon light- it happened too fast to set up the shot. I got out of the car the bird saw me and gathered the snake into his beak and prepared to fly away with it. I got off a few shots before he did.

Equipment

this was shot with a canon 1Dmk4 and 400 f5.6 L lens with 1.4x

Inspiration

I love raptors and the caracara is my favorite raptor

Editing

this photo is cropped and the exposure has been edited

In my camera bag

canon 1.4x mk3, 2x mk3, 16-35 f4 L, 600 f4 mk2, 1DXmk2,

Feedback

to get good wildlife photos I recommend spending lots of time in the wild observing, get comfortable with your kit, get as close as you can, have fun
