FollowThis shot never fails to make me smile. It wasn't easy to create, but the effort paid off. And the beautiful moment this collaboration with @kirstenjane_art and @josh.griffiths_ came together is one I remember with a smile every time I see this shot.

Location
This photo was taken at Bondi Beach in Sydney. A friend and I were road tripping along the east coast and this night we were staying with a mutual friend who shares my passion for photography.Time
It was close to midnight before it was dark enough to take this.Lighting
This was the last shot we tried, right on the verge of giving up, because we were having trouble getting landing the sparks where we wanted them. It wasn’t even the shot we set out to make, but it is by far my favourite.Equipment
This was shot on a Nikon D750 with a 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5 and a tripod.Inspiration
We’d each been talking about using this light painting technique this for months so we joined forces and, late that night we went down to the beach to try.Editing
A very slight WB adjustment was all this needed. Otherwise, this straight out of the cameraIn my camera bag
Depends on the shoot, my Nikon D750 and this lens did a surprisingly good job as a travel lens. I usually also carry some spare batteries and at least one cleaning cloth.Feedback
Have the patience to keep trying you never know when you’ll end up with a really fun, unique shot
