This is an Anasazi (Ancient Puebloan) structure off by itself in a small alcove high on the canyon wall. This suggests to me that it might have been a granary - structure used for long-term storage of collected food.
Canyon de Chelly National Monument is on the Navajo Nation in northeastern Arizona, USA. The Nat'l Park Service only has access to roads along the rims of the canyons. If one stops at all lookout points on the canyon rims, and walks a little ways along the rim at each one, one can see many small isolated dwellings and other structures as the ones shown in this group of photos.
Cross-bedding in the geologic stratum called "Navajo Sandstone" is also readily visible.
