Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken in Mississippi at a friends house in there garden.

Time

It was mid morning in the spring and my friend and I were working in the yard. There were lots of bees and birds and butterflies fluttering around. This one kept coming near me. My friend said something about getting into photography, I remembered I had my camera in my truck so I went and got it. This beauty struck the perfect pose for me and I snapped the shot.

Lighting

I just used the natural lighting that was provided by nature.

Equipment

I have a Nikon Coolpix P900, setting was on Auto, so I just have to point and click, even I can't mess it up.

Inspiration

My friend said that it was a beautiful butterfly and it had been hanging around most of the morning. It was like it was posing for me, so I listened to it and snapped the shot.

Editing

No post-processing was done, I really do not believe in doing that. Doing that is changing what you really saw in nature, either you like the shot you took or you don't, if you are good enough you should not need to do anything to any of your photos, at least that is the way I am and think.

In my camera bag

Just the Coolpix P900

Feedback

I have missed some great shots because I did not have my camera with me or near me when nature gave me something beautiful to photograph. So just be ready and expect it when you least expect it, because it will happen when you least expect it. Always have your camera close if not on you.
