This photo was taken on the banks of Lake Jacomo, in Jackson County, Missouri. It was taken as the sun was setting facing the west bankTime
As the title says, I took this photo at dusk as my husband and I were hiking around the perimeter of the lake. There was an opening in the trees and I thought the scene was stunningly beautiful so I grabbed my Samsung cell camera and snapped a few photos, this one turned out to be my favorite.Lighting
At the time I took the photo there was a slight cloudiness in the sky and the last rays of sunlight was peeking through the trees on the other side of the lake coupled with the shades of sunset against those clouds just really made the whole scene look magical.Equipment
This was shot on my Samsung Note 4 with no other equipment. The only editing done was the cropping of the photo.Inspiration

When sun is setting the light fades quicker than you might think, be prepared to snap several shots but also try to frame your shot with lots of interest in both the foreground and the background.
