A classic Peak District view from Mam Tor over the Edale Valley with the mighty Kinder Scout moor beyond.
Kinder Scout is a hugely important place for us all, even if you haven't actually stood upon the beautiful barren landscape. In 1932 the "Kinder Mass Tresspass" took place, culminating in a campaign by the The Ramblers which developed into legislation for open access rights for the public to explore open access land and enabled the creation of multiple public historic footpaths including the Pennine Way.
This image was taken about an hour before sunset at the beginning of the "golden hour". A low steady tripod (3leggedthing) due to the windy conditions with a hard edge graduated ND filter to hold the detail in the sky. In addition to this I used a 10 stop filter to gain a long exposure of 35 seconds to give the clouds some more punch, Iso 100, f11 at 11mm.
