I love night shots, but how did you get such clarity with the full moon shining so brightly below?

I honestly have no idea! I think it helps that although the moon was out, there was very little light pollution (other than the small town seen). Also with the moon low, the sky up top was darker?!? Maybe that's it, don't know the science though.
